Dr. Miranda usually refers to Stage 3 cellulite as "terminal cellulite," a term she coined when she began practicing Mesotherapy in 2005. At the time, she didn't think it was possible to treat such advanced cellulite. In the last several years, however, she has successfully treated women with Stage 3 cellulite, leading her to conclude that any kind of cellulite can be successfully treated. Mesotherapy can eliminate cellulite on the legs and buttocks, breaking down the orange-peel appearance of skin, and producing a smooth contour. The average patient eliminates all visible cellulite in 10-25 sessions. Some patients require additional treatments if their cellulite is particularly severe. On average, the patients completed their treatments in less than 10 sessions.
Since more than 90% of women are affected by cellulite, this condition doesn't make you "different." But doing something about it does.

To treat patients with cellulite, Dr. Miranda employs a standard Mesotherapy formula, which is often customized for each patient. All patients are allergy tested 24 hours prior to treatment. Please note: allergies to the medications are quite rare.
Once you are evaluated (and it's determined you have no allergies), Dr. Miranda will schedule weekly or bi-monthly treatment sessions. Each session takes about 45 minutes, and involves the injection of formulas in specific patterns (different types of cellulite require different injection techniques).
Mesotherapy is completely safe when performed by a well-trained physician. In fact, during the 50 years that Mesotherapy has been practiced, no deaths have occurred as a result. Compare this to liposuction, which causes approximately 100 deaths per year.
The most significant side effects of Mesotherapy are black and blue marks, a 15- to 20-minute burning sensation, mild to moderate soreness for 1-5 days, and (as with any injection) a slight risk of infection. All patients return to work the same day.
